    10 Things I Love

I’ve been doing this blog thing for almost five years, and although some of you know me, I thought I’d take a minute to reintroduce myself by giving you a list of 10 things I love.  At this point, you *hopefully* know I love travel, but here’s a little bit more about me and my interests: 1 . Carbonated beverages A little random but so very true.  I swear by McDonald’s Coke and will go out of my way to get a Coke from said establishment.  I was grabbing Chick-fil-A for dinner with a friend, but I legitimately drove...

    Round Trip Roundup: JUNE

I like to think I learn from my mistakes. We all do, right? After spending a summer in France, I realized I could’ve been more aggressive on the making friends front. That might be weird to ask for their number. It would be awkward if we hung out since we don’t each other that well. This summer in Texas, I said not anymore. That means reaching out about getting coffee or dinner, not waiting for someone to ask. Being the new girl is exhausting, but after six weeks here, I feel like I’m in a good groove. I have...

    Round Trip Roundup: MAY

A two-day road trip, another several hundred miles logged on my trusty Nissan, and here I am. Packing up my life in Missouri and moving it to Texas is a feat. Note to self: move as few times as possible because you have too much stuff. Additional note to self: buy less stuff. The month of May has seen many goodbyes and much growing up. Neither one is my favorite. Yet the month of May has seen rich adventures and exciting adjustments. Change isn’t easy, yet our lives are in constant flux. And each year I’m realizing that I’m...

    New City, New Girl

“Hi, I’m Kristin, and I’m new here. “There are few things I dislike more than being unknown, not having my people around, being alone. And I really haven’t had to do it much. Unlike a good friend of mine whose dad was in the military and thus moved all over, I’ve lived in the same house for my entire life. (Okay, I might’ve lived at our old house for the first week of my life before moving into the current one.) Long story short: It’s been a long time since I’ve been the new girl. And it’s not my...

    How to Start a Blog

I get it. You have a lot to say, and you need to say it. The great thing about the internet is that there’s virtually limitless, free space to share your thoughts. Yes, there are thousands of blogs out on the web, but I believe everyone has a story and valuable things to say. And people are reading blogs: 77% of internet users are reading blogs, which means this is so much room to grow — especially in this almost fully digital world due to the coronavirus. If you’re looking to start a blog, here are the basic steps...

    Round Trip Roundup: APRIL

Anxious jitters. Constantly checking email. Working out constantly to funnel my restless energy. Unknown. April was a month of anticipation, and as it’s coming to a close, I cannot help but be overwhelmed with gratefulness. Summer plans have been up in the air, and being the type A girl who has to be in control that I am, this was an involuntary lesson in patience. Sometimes we wait for people or things that never come, but this time around, it came for me. Although the first part of the month was marked by knots in my stomach and little...

    Round Trip Roundup: MARCH

Sixth grade didn’t seem so long ago, thanks to the Jonas Brothers getting back together with their new single “Sucker.” March was packed with revisiting my sixth grade boy band obsession (it was bad, let me tell you), keeping busy at work and school and traveling to New York. The weather is warming up, and I can feel my mood exponentially improving with every ray of sunshine. Here’s my top 5 for the month: 1. Jonas Brothers reunion party And I’m not sorry about it – not to be confused with “You’re Not Sorry.” I started a fan club...

    Round Trip Roundup: FEBRUARY

Snow bombarded mid-Missouri this month, and I’m so over it. The number of snow and ice days were more than I wanted or needed, and they had me dreaming about my glory days bopping around Europe but also blogging about them. This month was short but packed with celebrating gal pals for Valentine’s Day and sharing my European adventures. Here’s my top 5 for the month: 1 . What I’m reading My favorite way to end the day is turning on my lamps, crawling into bed and reading even if just for five to 10 minutes. This month I’m...
