about

More people engaging in cross-cultural connections and traveling smarter through captivating storytelling.

Mission Statement

Hey there. My name is Kristin, and I sort of have a crush on travel. I’m a Midwestern gal with a crazy obsession with France and an addiction to La Croix. I’ve been to 11 countries and am not stopping anytime soon.

Through Round Trip, I’m fueled by a desire to help others have more cross-cultural connections and to make travel more accessible.

Why?

I’ve learned more about myself and the world through travel than any textbook or teacher. This blog is an outlet to share my adventures and help you plan yours. In 2020, I launched my free online course, The Ultimate Guide to Travel Budgeting. I also published two books about travel so you can travel smarter and more thoughtfully.

Indulge in the adventures awaiting you.

Through travel, we choose to embrace the unknown, to be comfy in the “uncomfy.”

Through travel, we see the world around us beyond headlines and Insta feeds.  We’re forced to see who we are without the comfort of familiarity.  We begin to humanize other cultures and understand their values.

Through travel, we discover the baggage that followed us on our travels whether it’s the loneliness or pain we thought could’ve been left behind.

Through travel, we gain perspective on our perceived problems and direction in life.  We’re introduced to another scenery and eatery but on a larger scale, a different way of life.

My work has been published in Southwest Airlines’ in-flight magazine, Sysco Foodie, Vox Magazine and COMO Magazine among others. I’ve interviewed big names including ban.do founder Jen Gotch, entrepreneur Marie Forleo and the first female Missouri Supreme Court judge.

Brands I’ve worked with: Marc Jacobs Beauty, NYX Cosmetics, The Porch Project, Reviews.com, Brit + Co, Parabo Press, Greetabl and Mieroglyphs.  In addition to working with these brands, Round Trip has also been featured on Visit Columbia Missouri and Explore St. Louis.
